The Baring is located on a residential street in Islington, just off Regent’s Canal, and is defined by simple yet considered cooking, promoting superb ingredients and seasonal produce, against a backdrop of low intervention wines and independent UK breweries.
We are seeking a talented and driven Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, quality-focused kitchen that prides itself on seasonal produce, thoughtful cooking, and consistently high standards.
As Chef de Partie, you will take ownership of a section of the kitchen, ensuring dishes are prepared and presented to the highest level. You will work closely with the senior chefs to maintain smooth service, contribute to menu development, and uphold the ethos of the restaurant.
Key responsibilities include:
- Running and maintaining your designated section during prep and service
- Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes in line with the restaurant’s standards
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Ensuring consistency, quality, and attention to detail in every dish
- Maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards at all times
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
- Contributing ideas for menu development and seasonal changes
Job Requirements
We are looking for a passionate and reliable chef who thrives in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment and is eager to grow within a strong team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Chef ready to step up
- A solid understanding of fresh, seasonal cooking.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices
