The Role

We are looking for a kitchen manager at our main bakery to keep the energy and momentum high and ensure our reputation for unmatched quality continues. You’ll be responsible for keeping everything running smoothly, beautifully and profitably. You’ll be on the floor, running a small but mighty team. You need to know how to push the pace without losing morale. You’re the coach, the pace-setter, and the quality controller.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, inspire and develop the production team across all departments.
  • Efficiency Obsessed: you will constantly look at our flow. Can we work smarter? Is the oven rotation optimised? You love finding 10% more efficiency in a process.
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels, holidays and performance reviews
  • Foster a positive, collaborative and accountable culture
  • Lead by example with calm authority, strong communication and energy

Production & Planning

  • Oversee production schedules and workflow to ensure timely fulfilment of all baking and orders
  • Maintain consistency, presentation and product integrity across all ranges
  • Coordinate with our Soho Shop to manage stock levels and batch transfers
  • Work on new launches, seasonal collections and innovations

Operational Excellence

  • Own kitchen admin, reporting and daily floor control
  • Monitor productivity and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
  • Manage ingredient ordering, stock control and waste reduction
  • Maintain health, safety and food hygiene compliance
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and kitchen organisation
  • Protect and develop the “C&D Eye” of uncompromising standards across the board

Job Requirements

About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar bakery or production management role
  • Strong operational and organisational mindset
  • Confident managing high-volume production environments
  • Calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Passionate about quality, creativity and team development
  • Highly skilled in high-end cake decoration
  • Familiar with and excited by the Crumbs & Doilies brand
  • You have likely managed a high-volume food production site, a busy bakery, or a fast-paced kitchen floor. You understand that "Floor Manager" means being where the action is
