Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to help open our new taproom in Furzedown. We’re bringing our beer to a new South London location, while re-creating the welcoming atmosphere and quality our established bars in Beckenham are known for.

We’re looking for someone with high standards and several years of experience in the hospitality industry, who can inspire, lead, and develop a team for this new bar. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, people-focused individual who enjoys interacting with customers daily and will play a key role in creating a welcoming, lively space that balances great drinks, warm hospitality, and efficient operations.

There is a clear expectation — and opportunity — to go the extra mile. This includes being actively involved in planning and delivering events, collaborating with local groups, and helping the bar become an integral part of the wider Furzedown community. Creativity, initiative, and a genuine interest in community engagement will be highly valued.

This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to someone who leads by example, is proactive and adaptable, and can confidently tackle challenges as they arise. You’ll be instrumental in setting the tone for the venue, building a strong team culture, and helping the bar grow into a much-loved local spot.

Job Requirements

To succeed in this role, you’ll need several years of experience in the hospitality industry, ideally in a supervisory or management position within a bar, pub, or taproom environment. Strong operational knowledge — including service standards, stock control, staff training, and day-to-day problem solving — is essential, as this is a hands-on role from the very start.

Equally important are the personal qualities you bring. We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident, inspiring leader who can motivate and develop a team and lead by example

  • Customer-focused and personable, with a genuine enjoyment of engaging with guests

  • Proactive and adaptable, able to think on their feet and handle challenges as they arise

  • Proud of high standards, with a strong eye for detail in service and presentation

  • Community-minded and enthusiastic, with the energy to go the extra mile by helping organise events and build strong local connections

Above all, the ideal candidate will take real ownership of the bar, combining professionalism with warmth, creativity, and a passion for great hospitality.
