Swirl E10 is a natural wine bar in Leyton, East London - known for our curated Czech and Slovakian wine list, warm neighbourhood feel, and a pop-up dining programme that brings guest chefs into our small kitchen. We back independent producers, support the local food and wine scene, and want a workplace people actually enjoy showing up to.

We're looking for a General Manager to lead the venue day to day: the team, the floor, the numbers, the standards. You'll have real ownership here - not just running shifts, but shaping how the place feels and grows.

This is a great next step for an experienced supervisor or assistant manager ready to run their own venue. We're small and hands-on, so on quiet days everyone chips in on simple food - cheese boards, toasties, light snacks. No chef background required, just a willingness to get stuck in.

£39,000–£42,000 including share of service charge, 37–40 hrs/week including evenings and weekends. 28 days holiday, staff discount on wine and food, pension, and a genuine say in shaping a growing, much-loved local spot.

Job Requirements

2–3 years' supervisory/management experience in hospitality
A track record of building strong teams and great service
Solid financial acumen - budgets, reporting, cost control
Working knowledge of UK licensing, food safety, HR and H&S
Personal Licence holder (or willing to obtain)
Level 2 Food Safety certification (or willing to obtain)
Comfortable with POS systems (Lightspeed) and Google Workspace/Microsoft Office
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Physically able to lift and move furniture and equipment
Happy to help with simple food prep
Positive attitude and strong team spirit - someone who takes feedback well and works through problems with the team, not against them
Right to work in the UK

Desirable: passion for natural wine (WSET L2+), experience with pop-ups or collaborative dining, background in independent, community-focused venues.
