In May 2025, St. JOHN opened its fourth restaurant and wine bar, situated in the heart of Covent Garden. We are looking for a service-focused General Manager — a true hospitalitarian who loves the nitty-gritty of service and who thrives on nurturing and leading a team to success. A passion for the St. JOHN philosophy and Fergus Henderson’s nose-to-tail ethos is non-negotiable.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in restaurant management, with extensive experience in high-end restaurants. We are looking for someone who brings a relaxed, informal and engaging service style, who is happy to chat with customers about the day’s menu and share a genuine passion for food and wine. They will develop and deliver a clear understanding of our core culture and values of purpose, simplicity and nose-to-tail eating.

Open seven days a week, the venue is a place for locals to pick up fresh bread in the morning, enjoy coffee and pastries for breakfast, delight in a glass or two into the late evening, and have lunch and dinner from a concise menu of all things St. JOHN.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience as a General Manager in high end, fast paced, high-volume sites.
Wine enthusiast with extensive knowledge a must have.
A strong passion for delivering excellent food and customer service with the ability to inspire others with their energy.
Good leadership, engagement and people management skills.
An open, engaging and friendly personality with the confidence to lead the St. JOHN philosophy and brand image with your team and guests.
Commercially savvy with a proven track record of successfully managing P&L to drive revenue & sales plus budget management experience.
Proven experience in training and successfully developing & inspiring talent across all levels of the team.
Excellent attention to detail, calm under pressure and resilient.
Able to work as part of the wider St. JOHN management team and with their own initiative.
