Job Description

Unwined is an independent wine bar and restaurant in Waterloo with a sharing plates menu built around an eclectic, carefully chosen wine list. We're a small, close-knit team that takes food and wine seriously, and we're looking for a Senior CDP to grow with us.

The role

You'll be a genuine second-in-command in the kitchen, not just holding the fort, but actively shaping how we cook and what we put on the plate. That means leading services, supporting menu development, mentoring junior staff, and bringing your own ideas to the table. When the Head Chef is off, you'll be ready to take control.

What you'll be doing

Leading services and running the pass with confidence
Supporting menu development and dish testing
Maintaining consistency, standards, and food safety (HACCP)
Helping with stock, ordering, and prep planning
Mentoring and supporting kitchen assistants

What we offer

£18.50-19/hr including service charge (£44,000+ pa, based on 40 hr wk)
Tuesday–Saturday, 40 hours/week > every Sunday and Monday off
20 days paid holiday, and ALL Bank Holidays off!

Job Requirements

About you

You have solid professional kitchen experience and you're ready for more responsibility. You care about seasonal, ingredient-led cooking and have a genuine interest in wine. You're calm under pressure, organised, and motivated by being part of something rather than just showing up for a shift.

This suits someone who's ready to step up from a strong CDP position and wants more ownership than a larger kitchen would give them. You'll have real creative input here and you'll be heard.

You don't need a wine qualification - just curiosity and enthusiasm for how food and wine work together.

Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
