Job Description
We’re looking for a Sous Chef to join and help lead our Haringey site. Working closely with the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You’ll be confident leading the team independently, while also supporting essential admin tasks such as rota planning, reporting, and stock control.
What You’ll Be Doing
Kitchen Operations
Supporting the day-to-day running of the Haringey kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service across both cafe and pizza
- Assisting with the training and roll-out of new and existing menus to a consistently high standard
- Day-to-day ordering, wastage control and reporting
- Supporting on wider stock-takes and control
- Always maintaining a clean, organised and calm kitchen environment
- Implementing and upholding H&S, allergen management and food safety procedures day-to-day
- Assisting in building and managing staff rotas
People Management
- Supporting the day-to-day management of kitchen staff, including chefs, KPs and trainees
- Being an exceptional role model – patient, kind and a positive presence in a busy environment
- Helping foster a kitchen culture that reflects TDK values: supportive, accountable and professional
- Working closely with the Casework team to support and engage youth trainees on shift
- Communicating clearly to the head chef and senior kitchen team
Job Requirements
- Strong cooking skills with at least 2–3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen, including an experience or a strong interest in pizza
- Solid organisational skills
- Clear communication and a calm, positive presence in a busy environment
- A strong sense of pride in consistency, quality and execution
- Being proactive, able to take initiative and a being a good delegator
- Alignment with TDK’s mission of training and supporting young people
