Job Description

We are looking for a sous chef for a new opening in Mayfair. Bar Finch is a classic Italian aperitivo bar and restaurant, serving a short menu of comforting classics. Bar Finch was founded by Charles Finch; a respected entrepreneur, Hollywood publicist, producer, director, and restaurateur. We a looking for an experienced sous, or a strong junior sous looking to progress. We would consider extremely strong and experienced CDP's looking to jump ahead. Bar Finch has a small kitchen, and a tight brigade. We will be working with only the best produce, and our sous will have the chance to make their own connections with our suppliers. This role is ‘classic’ sous role - we will not have junior, or senior sous. When the head chef is not in the kitchen, our sous will have responsibility for the house! This role is perfect for anyone looking to get more intimately involved with the running of a restaurant kitchen. We offer a strong employee benefits and welfare package, with weekends off. 

Job Requirements

  • We are looking for someone who has an interest in simple, home-style cooking. 
  • Strong butchery and fish prep skills 
  • Highly organised 
  • Excellent people management skills 
  • Someone who is eager to teach others and to nurture junior chefs 
  • Events experience also desirable
