Assistant General Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant General Manager with strong wine knowledge to join our team. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and has a genuine enthusiasm for wine, service excellence, and team leadership.

You will play a key role in delivering outstanding guest experiences, supporting daily operations, and driving revenue through effective wine service and team development.

What you’ll be responsible for;

Core responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations
• Deliver exceptional guest service and implement and maintain high service standards
• Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team
• Provide confident wine recommendations and enhance guest experience 
• Oversee stock control, inventory, and cost management
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and licensing regulations

Job Requirements

• Is currently an Assistant Manager/Manager looking to step into a broader, more impactful role
• Has a genuine passion for wine and is eager to continue learning and developing their knowledge
• Enjoys engaging with guests and creating memorable, experience-led service moments
• Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and leads by example on the floor
• Is confident training and developing team members, especially around wine and service standards
• Wants to grow with a business and is excited by future progression into senior management roles
