Front of house all rounder - café

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, community-focused person to join our lovely café team! Pique café is a popular neighbourhood spot, committed to providing efficient, personable service; delicious food and perfectly poured coffee.

We are looking for someone to help on our busy weekends- this will vary from being out on the floor taking orders, to working behind the till/ counter and if you're barista trained, on the coffee machine too. 

We are more than happy to train people up with barista skills, all we ask for is a PMA and willingness to jump in.

There may also be some midweek cover shifts and also event work through our catering branch if you're looking for more hours.

Job Requirements

Essential experience

1+ years working in a front of house setting

Desirable:

- Coffee Preparation & Techniques (1-3+ years)

- Proficiency in making espresso-based drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc.).

- Skilled in milk frothing, texturing, and basic latte art

- Ability to dial in grinders and maintain consistency in shots.

Customer Service & Communication:

- Providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for customers.

- Taking orders accurately and efficiently.

- Handling customer inquiries and complaints professionally.

Workflow & Efficiency

- Working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Maintaining a clean and organised workstation.

- Following health and safety regulations. 

-Experience on POS

- Processing transactions quickly and accurately.

- Handling credit card payments, and loyalty programs.

- Assisting in managing inventory and restocking supplies.
