Job Description

Dorothy’s is a new all-day café opening in the heart of Mayfair, centred around seasonal cooking, relaxed hospitality and exceptional produce from small-scale suppliers. The menu will change throughout the year, taking influence from European, old world café culture with a strong emphasis on thoughtful, ingredient-led food across breakfast, lunch, Apertivo and evening service.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Chef to join the opening team and grow with the project from the very beginning. This role would suit someone who genuinely cares about food, enjoys working collaboratively and wants to develop their skills within a creative and ambitious kitchen environment. Passion is much more important than previous experience!

As a new opening, there will be genuine opportunities to contribute ideas, evolve within the role and help shape the direction of the kitchen as the business grows.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily prep and service across breakfast, lunch and evening menus

• Preparing and cooking dishes to a consistently high standard

• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation

• Supporting with stock rotation, deliveries and kitchen organisation

• Working closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house team during service

• Contributing to seasonal menu development and specials where appropriate

 

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment (not essential)

• A genuine passion for food, produce and hospitality

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

• Good organisation and attention to detail

• Calmness under pressure and ability to work as part of a team

• Someone excited by the opportunity to grow within an ambitious independent business
