Job Description
We're looking for a Sous Chef to support our Head Chef and help run a kitchen built around seasonal, ingredient-led cooking. The food changes weekly, the team is small, and the role is hands-on. You'll be in the thick of it; prep, service, running sections, deputising when needed - and there's real space to grow with us.
The Role
-Support the Head Chef in running daily prep and service, maintaining standards across every dish that leaves the kitchen.
-Lead the kitchen team confidently in the Head Chef's absence — keeping the environment calm, organised and high-standard.
-Contribute to a daily and weekly changing menu rooted in seasonality, freshness and unfussy, flavour-led cooking.
-Take responsibility for food safety, allergen compliance, hygiene and health and safety across the kitchen.
-Assist with ordering, stock control, waste reduction and prep scheduling under the direction of the Head Chef.
-Support the training and development of junior team members, setting a calm and professional example.
Job Requirements
-Experience running a section or deputising in a quality-focused kitchen
-Drawn to seasonal, ingredient-led cooking — you find daily menus exciting, not daunting
-Technically solid, organised and strong on hygiene and kitchen systems
-A calm, dependable presence who leads by example and brings the team along
-Mindset, curiosity and attitude matter as much as experience
