We’re looking for an enthusiastic, kind and collaborative leader in our gorgeous cafe at Clissold House. Right in the heart of the park, it’s a warm, welcoming, and beautiful space with loads of energy, great food, and a proper community feel.

We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to be the right hand of the GM. You’ll be working in a mix of sit-in dining, takeaway, an outdoor seating area, and a park shop - so no two days will be the same! In summer demand is intense, and in the winter we work against the weather to keep things fresh, fun and appealing. We’re looking for someone to work alongside us to create something special all year round. 

Strong experience in fast-paced, multi-faceted spaces is essential. You’ll be juggling everything from takeaway and a la carte service to families, prams,  park-goers, and retail, all while keeping things warm, smooth and efficient. Job Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Proactive and confident in communication and problem solving with customers, kitchens, and internal teams.
  • An interest in training and improvement of the team including nurturing interest, curiosity and knowledge. 
  • A strong team player who enjoys getting stuck in.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as the right hand of the GM, a key holder who is confident running shifts alone. 
  • Leading by example to our floor supervisor and the rest of the team. 
  • Managing and supporting our floor and shift supervisors, maintaining high service standards.
  • Support smooth communication between the floor team and the kitchen staff, answering questions with clarity and kindness.
  • Confidently answering questions about menu items and allergens, and ensuring the team has the right information.
  • Making judgement calls mid-service to ensure customer satisfaction, and acting as the point-of-call for complaints or actions. 
  • Managing ordering and stock levels of food, retail, consumables and floor-related perishable stock. This involves coordinating with our internal kitchens across the business, including our bakery and Clissold House kitchen.
  • Thorough but concise reporting and handovers to GM and senior management. 
  • Take responsibility for the cleanliness and high standards of opens and closes.  This includes making sure team members are properly filling out cleaning sheets, wastage reporting, H&S compliance reporting, stock control
