About The Victoria

The Victoria is an independent, food-led pub in the heart of Mile End, shaped by the same passionate team that has grown and evolved the business over the past seven years.

At its core is a strong commitment to sustainable British seafood, working closely with responsible suppliers and fishermen to showcase the very best of what our waters have to offer. The kitchen is produce-driven and seasonal, with food always taking centre stage.

Alongside the dining spaces sits ‘Above’, our private dining room, designed for intimate celebrations, long lunches and memorable gatherings. Outside, the pub opens into a huge sun-trap garden – one of East London’s best spots for relaxed drinking and eating when the weather plays ball.

While food is the focus, the bar is anything but an afterthought. Expect a carefully curated wine list and a cracking cocktail menu, built with the same attention to detail as the kitchen.

Independent, characterful and constantly evolving, The Victoria is very much a reflection of the team behind it – thoughtful, welcoming, and proudly rooted in doing things properly.

Workplace Culture

Our workplace culture is built around hiring great personalities first and training for everything else. We look for people with warmth, energy and curiosity, then give them the structure, support and opportunities to grow into long-term careers with us.

Progression is at the heart of what we do. As the business has grown, so have our team. Several long-standing members of staff are now part-owners, which reflects our commitment to recognising loyalty, developing talent and creating real pathways forward.

While the atmosphere is friendly and down to earth, the business itself is structured, professional and well organised. We set clear expectations, communicate openly and invest heavily in people development. Our Head of People leads personalised training plans for every team member, ensuring that everyone has the tools, feedback and direction they need to progress.

Staff retention has always been one of our strengths, and we work hard to keep it that way. No one works more than 45 hours a week, because work–life balance is genuinely important to us. We also make sure that staff food is always something to look forward to—fresh, generous and cooked with the same care as the dishes we serve our guests.

It’s a place where people feel supported, take pride in what they do, and can see a clear future for themselves.
