Jenius Social is a cookery venue in Islington. we are experts in delivering high-quality team-building experiences and private events. We are looking for a skilled Freelance Chef to lead our hands-on sessions and help our clients discover the joy of cooking together.

The Role

This is a freelance, customer-facing position focused on instruction and event delivery. You will be responsible for:

Instruction: Leading 90-minute cookery classes for corporate and private groups, following Jenius Social’s established recipes and running orders.
Preparation: Setting up the event space, including the precise measuring and scaling of ingredients.
Kitchen Standards: Ensuring the kitchen is clean, maintained, and professional before, during, and after each class.
Collaboration: Working as part of a tight-knit team alongside Front of House staff and Kitchen Porters to ensure every event is a success.

Job Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

Professional Background: You must have experience in a commercial kitchen at CDP level or above.
Culinary Range: A strong, versatile knowledge of various global cuisines.
Communication: Fluent English is essential, as you will be instructing and interacting with guests throughout the shift.
Personality: You are warm, welcoming, and enjoy sharing your culinary skills with others.
Adaptability: Teaching experience is desirable, but we value a chef who is organized, reliable, and thrives in a social kitchen environment.

Schedule & Pay

Status: Freelance / Casual.
Pay: £23–£25 per hour (depending on experience).
Shifts: Minimum of 6 hours per shift.
Availability: Primarily Tuesday to Friday (daytime and evenings), with occasional Saturdays.
