Job Description
Junior Baker — Debbie Jo, West London
We're looking for a Junior Baker to join the team at our popular and growing bakery in West London.
The ideal candidate has some experience as a chef, a strong interest in both viennoiserie and sourdough bread, and ideally hands-on experience in one or both.
You'll work with our Head of Pastry to execute classic Debbie Jo recipes to a high standard, with the opportunity to work across both the Pastry and Bread sections.
Creativity in the bakery is hugely encouraged, and the role will particularly suit someone with creative ambitions of their own.
We pride ourselves on a culture of respect and fun. We're a small team where everyone is kind, everyone has a voice, and bakers who've joined us from other kitchens consistently tell us what a nice place this is to work.
We're a thriving, growing business — we opened our first Debbie Jo in 2023, a second location in 2025, and most recently a small third site in the Pavilion at Brook Green. It's an exciting time to join, and we're looking for candidates who share our passion and ambition.
The ideal candidate will be excited by the opportunities for growth and personal development within the business. Our immediate goals include expanding our bread range, growing pastry production, and developing new products for the bakery menu.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the bakers with lunch production
- Learning the art of lamination — our pain au chocolat is the best in the business, and we'll teach you how to make it
- Assisting with our sourdough bread production — we pride ourselves on having the best sourdough in West London
- Baking cakes, traybakes, and cookies, working with puff pastry, and creating weekend specials
- Supporting the team with prep and bakes
- Keeping a clean, efficient, well-organised workstation
- Helping maintain high standards and consistency
This is a great opportunity to work with and learn from a wonderful team of kind and talented bakers.
