Head Waiter

Job Description

We’re looking for a confident, food-led Head Waiter to take ownership of a section and help lead service on the floor.

This is a hands-on role for someone who cares about hospitality, understands pacing, and takes pride in doing things properly.

You will:

• Lead a section with calm, confident service.
• Deliver knowledgeable, attentive and personable hospitality.
• Read the room and manage pacing throughout service.
• Make thoughtful food and wine recommendations.
• Support the wider team to maintain strong service flow.
• Contribute to daily briefings with pairing insights.
• Uphold high standards of presentation and organisation.
• Help drive average spend through considered, natural upselling.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and bar to ensure smooth service.

Job Requirements

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with natural warmth.

You should have:

• Previous experience as a senior waiter or head waiter in a quality-led restaurant.
• Strong product knowledge (food, wine, cocktails).
• Confidence running a section independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Calm presence under pressure.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• A genuine interest in food and hospitality.
• A team-first attitude with leadership by example.
