Job Description

Bombolone is looking for an experienced, hands-on Café Manager / Head Barista to independently manage the day-to-day operations of our coffee shop.

We're looking for someone reliable, proactive and organised, with strong leadership skills, excellent coffee knowledge and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Independently manage the café and ensure smooth daily operations
Prepare high-quality coffee and maintain consistent standards
Lead, train and motivate the team
Manage staff rotas, breaks and shift coverage
Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer issues
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health & safety
Monitor stock levels, place supplier orders and minimise waste
Manage online orders and delivery platforms
Oversee product availability, displays and presentation
Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily reports
Monitor sales, labour costs and stock control to ensure efficient operations
Identify opportunities to improve sales, service and overall café performance

Job Requirements

About You

Proven experience managing a café or coffee shop
Strong barista skills and excellent coffee knowledge
Confident running a café independently without constant supervision
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
Reliable, punctual and able to take full responsibility
Proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail
Commercially minded, with an understanding of sales, costs and profitability
Friendly, positive and customer-focused
Hands-on, efficient and comfortable working in a busy environment
Flexible availability, including weekends

Someone who takes ownership of the café as if it were their own business. A natural leader who takes initiative, makes decisions independently, maintains high standards and leads by example.

This is a hands-on management role, so you'll be equally comfortable making great coffee, serving customers and managing the wider operation.
