Role description

To assist the Executive Chef & Head Chef to manage the day to day operations and administration of the kitchen.

Responsibilities

To help to create and prepare menus in relation to café standards in conjunction with the Executive Chef, Head Chef & management team.

To ensure recipes are being used accurately and consistently always.

To ensure all equipment is operated in a safe manner, immediately reporting any faulty equipment to Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

To taste and evaluate food before serving to ensure standards are met.

To have a full understanding of all dishes on the menu and how each dish is prepared and presented.

To make sure presentation is of a consistently high standard as shown by Executive Chef & Head Chef.

To ensure the safe and proper storage and stock rotation of all food.

To assist in ordering of products for the kitchen team in conjunction with the Head Chef & Kitchen Manager to maintain COGs.

Ideal candidate

A passionate, dedicated chef to join our growing team in East London. Must be keen on sustainability in hospo at a busy, high-end level.

Desired experience/skills

At least 3 years’ experience in a busy, fast paced kitchen at Junior Sous level or above.
