Job Title: Head Baker
Location: North East London
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours, with at least one weekend day

We are hiring a Head Baker to run our growing bakery and take the lead on all things bread and viennoiserie.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the helm of our expanding bakery, to join us and lead a vibrant, creative team of industry professionals. 

At Finks we're all about showcasing seasonality, passion and exceptional quality through our baking. We make all of our own bread and pastries for our 5 retail sites, and supply our kitchens locally, just up the street at Mountgrove Road and in Clissold Park.  As well as technical skills and knowledge are essential, managerial experience, creating, efficiencies and improvements in the kitchen is equally important. 

You’ll be supported by our Head of Pastry and well as our amazing team, and work closely with the owners of the business as we grow and expand our bakery in 2026 and beyond. 

You will work with top suppliers like SHRUB Provisions, Natoora, Wildfarmed and Gilchester’s flours and Estate Dairy and work with other passionate bakers who are in the industry to continue learning and bettering their skills in the field of bread and pastry. 

We work hard, we make delicious food and we have a lot of fun. Striking the balance of those 3 things are at the core of what working at FINK’S is all about.

This role is for a highly experienced professional baker. In-depth knowledge of both sourdough and viennoiserie are essential, as are strong people management skills. The role is based on a 5 shift per week rota, with early bakes and daytime production shifts. 

Interest and experience in cakes is appreciated as you'll be working directly above where we make our well-loved cakes – however this is an exclusively bread and pastry based role.

Job Requirements

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing a small team of bakers
  • Seeking and implementing efficiencies in our current bakery set up
  • Maintaining the quality of the current menu
  • Rota
  • Stock ordering
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with our current and potential suppliers
  • Recipe and future Menu Development alongside our chefs

The ideal candidate:

  • At least 2 years of Senior Sous (or above) experience
  • Curious, reliable, and excited to learn new techniques
  • Open to a very collaborative approach to working
  • Is aligned and familiar with the Fink’s aesthetic, menu and ethos
  • Passionate about great ingredients, precision and flavour
  • Comfortable with early starts and fast-paced environments
  • A positive team player who’s up for a challenge
