Chef de Partie
Kitchen- Chef De Partie
- £41,000 – £51,700 per year (inc tronc)
- London, Central
- Full Time
Job Description
We’re looking for Chefs de Partie to join one of London’s most celebrated Italian restaurants since it opened in 2008.
At Bocca di Lupo you’ll be cooking with exceptional Italian and UK ingredients, supported by ongoing hands-on training, supplier visits and clear progression within a long-standing, friendly brigade. We make almost everything in-house - breads, pastas, sausages, pickles, salumi, mostarda. The standard is exceptionally high, and we’re extremely proud of it.
Five members of our current kitchen management team, including our Head Chef Gareth Saywell, were trained entirely in-house, so this is a great team to learn, grow and most importantly, stay in.
Earnings start from £16.42 per hour for a Junior CDP, rising to £20.72 per hour for a Senior CDP (DOE). Based on a 48-hour week, this equates to £41k–£51.7k per annum, inclusive of service charge. Pay is hourly, with all overtime paid. We promote a healthy work-life balance with a structured rota of one double shift, four singles and two days off per week.
We also offer a number of benefits when you join us, such as a health and wellbeing allowance, a yearly £300 training allowance, enhanced parental leave pay for new parents, staff trips to Italy, monthly staff events, additional holiday for service, a 50% staff dining discount, the option to buy food and wine at cost price AND a scoop of gelato at our much-loved gelateria Gelupo, conveniently located across from us.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to work and grow in one of the most rewarding kitchens in London.
- Free meal for two on your birthday
- 50% off when dining with us
- Food and wine at cost price to enjoy at home
- £300 annual training allowance
- One extra day of holiday for every year of service
- Free scoop of gelato at Gelupo whenever you are working
- Health and wellbeing allowance
- Staff trips to Italy
- Staff events and parties
- Staff meals
- Enhanced parental pay
- Generous refer-a-friend bonuses
Job Requirements
This role suits a Chef de Partie who is looking for stability and long-term development, rather than frequent moves. We’re keen to speak to chefs who can demonstrate solid time spent in previous kitchens and a commitment to seeing roles through.
- Experience as a Chef de Partie in a high-quality, fast-paced restaurant - Italian kitchen experience a significant advantage (or strong Junior CDP ready to step up).
- Able to run your own section confidently and to a consistently high standard through busy services
- Meticulous about quality - you take pride in getting the details right, every time
- A genuine love of Italian food and curiosity about where it comes from
- Eager to learn, open to feedback and keen to develop your skills across every section
- Highly organised, and a clean, efficient way of working
- A strong team player who communicates well and stays calm under pressure
- Reliable, resilient and self-motivated - someone who holds themselves to a high standard
Personality-wise, we’re looking for someone reliable, switched on and proud of their work. You’ll work well as part of a brigade, communicate clearly, take feedback on board and contribute positively to the atmosphere in the kitchen.
