Jones' Crumpets is opening its first permanent site this Autumn on Golborne Road (W10)!

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Barista to join our opening team and take the lead on coffee service, standards & quality.

THE ROLE:

You’ll be making coffee throughout service, dialling in and maintaining quality and consistency across the day, keeping the bar running smoothly and helping the rest of the team build their own skills and confidence behind the machine - so they can support you when needed.

Our coffee partner will provide initial training for all staff and you will work closely with them to make sure the coffee we serve is consistently excellent.

We will be working in a small (hopefully) busy shop, so hospitality matters just as much to us as the coffee itself. We want someone who enjoys interacting with customers, works well with other people and is happy to get involved wherever needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare consistently excellent espresso & milk-based drinks throughout service
Dial in espresso and adjust grinder throughout service as required
Set & maintain high standards of extraction, milk texture, temperature
Maintain a clean coffee station at all times
Carry out daily machine cleaning and basic equipment care
Manage workflow during busy periods without compromising quality or service
Monitor coffee, milk & related stock levels and wastage
Support opening, closing, restocking and general shop duties
Help train and support fellow team members with coffee preparation
Work with coffee supplier on training coffee quality and maintaining standards

WORKING AT JONES’

Coffee will be your station and area of expertise but you will also help with customers, orders, restocking, deliveries, clearing down or food service when needed, just as you will be supported in turn.

Job Requirements

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with solid experience as a barista in a quality-focused café, coffee shop or similar, who is comfortable working independently behind the machine and across all aspects of coffee-making.

Beyond the technical side, we’re looking for someone who is warm, reliable and naturally hospitable. Someone who takes pride in making and serving great coffee, thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being part of a small team.

Experience as a Senior, Lead or Head Barista is great but we would also be happy to consider an individual looking to step up and take on more ownership and responsibility.
