Anchor and Hope

The Anchor and Hope opened in 2003 and has been operating in the same fashion since. We are a busy pub serving a twice daily changing menu. The cooking is ingredient led and very seasonal, we enjoy using the freshest ingredients possible.

As well as well kept ales and beer our drinks list is focused on low intervention wines and seasonal cocktails.

We operate a no bookings policy Monday to Friday and take bookings for Sunday lunch. Located on The Cut near Waterloo and the Southbank.

Anchor and Hope The Clarence Tavern, Stoke Newington Church Street, London, UK
Feb 17, 2020
The people behind the Anchor and Hope are opening a new site, The Clarence Tavern, on Stoke Newington Church Street. We are looking for chefs of all levels for positions at The Anchor and Hope as well as our new opening! Our pubs are about delicious food, beautiful drinks and friendly, knowledgeable service. We use the best ingredients we can find, using small scale suppliers and write a menu that evolves with the seasons. Our wine and drinks offering follows in the same vein, a focus on small producers making products with stacks of character. The atmosphere is simple, a great local pub.
