64 Goodge Street is an exciting new opening from Woodhead Restaurant Group, joining the immensely revered Portland, Clipstone, Quality Chop House and Quality Wines in Woodhead Group’s small but perfectly formed stable. They pride themselves in creating establishments which sing entirely with their own voices, an expression of their trust and support for the people within them, but which are supported by the group’s industry-leading people-focused culture.

The restaurant experience at 64 Goodge Street will centre around Head Chef Stuart Andrew’s take on French cuisine; “an outsider’s perspective”, as he puts it. It is an interpretation of his time spent cooking in Paris, and the love that he has for French cuisine. Stuart was the creator of the iconic game pithiver at Portland, and went on to be Clipstone’s opening Head Chef. His style is founded on classical techniques, showcasing the fantastic ingredients brought in by the amazing long-time suppliers, and a resolute spirit of generosity.

The joys of Burgundy form the backbone of 64 Goodge Street’s wine offering, with a lot of work put into careful sourcing from odd lists and old cellars, to ensure an extremely interesting but also affordable selection. The intention is to channel some of the spirit of that certain and excellent type of Parisian bistro which lacks pretension and puts the focus on excellent quality food within a relaxed setting. With just 34 covers, the space is intimate, calm, genial and perfectly designed; echoing the pared-back but warm aesthetic of its sister sites and intended to make its guests feel cocooned from the outside world.
