About BRUTTO
BRUTTO opened to the public in September 2021 in the heart of Farringdon a stones throw from Smithfield Meat Market. We serves classic Florentine food in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Simplicity, quality and big flavours. A vibrant bar for a casual wine or a perfect negroni. The restaurant is warm and cosy with the dining room always buzzing. Since opening, we’ve built a reputation for honest Tuscan cooking, warm hospitality and a loyal neighbourhood following.
We have proudly held our Michelin Bib Gourmand for five years since opening.
Workplace Culture
Noisy, not fancy. Founded by Russell Norman, we reject hushed, formal fine-dining in favor of 1970's Florentine romance. We describe ourselves as Brutto ma buono (Ugly but good) low lighting and warmth, both the atmosphere and the team. Convivial, clinking glasses, laid back. A home away from home in style and feel. We are deeply committed to walk - ins, whether at the counter or on a table. We aim to never say no to walk - in guests, especially solo diners who receive a complimentary Spritz on arrival, always. The team are committed and we are very lucky to have many long term team members. Staff lunches together on the terrace each day, lots of cross training allows for flexibilty on the rotas and during services. We do not open on a Sunday, our day of rest.
