About Redemption Roasters

Redemption Roasters has built its entire business model around its mission: to reduce prisoner reoffending through speciality coffee. That’s because we believe exceptional coffee can come from people and places you wouldn’t expect. We train offenders in professional roastery and barista skills. On release, we help our graduates find work, either in our own coffee shops, or within our network of partners. We operate our Roastery from inside the walls of HMP The Mount in Hemel Hempstead. It’s there that we employ offenders and train them in coffee roasting skills. We also run barista training courses across a number of different prisons within the UK. Alongside this we operate a community training lab where they offer the same training to people who are in custody. Along side all of this, we operate 6 amazing specialty coffee shops across London and are looking to open a further 3 before the end of the year!
