About Benk&Bo

All the food served in our café "Niste" is produced in-house, from scratch. We make our own baked goods, including bread and we produce our own pickles, jams and ferments. We pay particular attention to the provenance of the food we use, making a conscious effort to source seasonably, sustainably and organic where possible. Our site is split across three floors - The ground floor is home to our cafe and lounge. The lower ground floor is home to our kitchen, free workspace and Barbican Library outpost. During evenings and weekends this becomes an event space and has played host to a wide range of events from panel talks, book launches, live music and supper clubs. Our first floor is currently being converted into craft workshops. Within these workshops professional makers will teach classes to the public in skills such as sewing, wood work, candle making, weaving and rug tufting.
