We are looking for a talented Head Pastry Chef to be part of our team for the brand new The Hoxton, Southwark, set to open this summer.

The Hoxton, Southwark will be our latest addition to The Hoxton family, and our third hotel in London, only a skip & a hop away from the South Bank. There’ll be something for everyone: 192 rooms, a bustling ground-floor restaurant, bar and terrace, The Apartment (our unique meeting & events space), a stunning roof-top restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating PLUS our brand-new co-working space spread over six floors. It’s going to be quite something!

Role description

As a Pastry Head Chef you oversee the pastry department for the hotel and restaurants. Your role is pivotal in ensuring our pastry offer is delivered to each customer consistently and to the highest standard. You report into the Exec Head Chef and Head Chefs, and work with them to lead and inspire your pastry team while living the values and setting the highest possible standards. You’re a great coach and love developing your team to be their best whilst always developing yourself as well.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and inspire a team of 5 pastry chefs in one of the most exciting hotel openings of 2019
  • Support the Exec Head Chef with menu development within the pastry department
  • Train and develop the pastry chefs within the team to ensure the highest standards are achieved across all areas of the pastry department
  • You’ll lead your team by example, keeping them involved and motivated; helping them feel empowered and supported, confident in providing top Hox experiences and be approachable
  • Embrace thinking outside the box and make sure they having fun

Ideal candidate

  • Stability and structured career progression in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority

  • Proven track record managing, retaining and developing a pastry team
