About us

Bubala has gone from sold out pop up (including stints at Carousel, Berber & Q and Untitled Bar) to a busy 36 cover restaurant having just opened next to Spitalfields in September. We are a Middle Eastern vegetarian concept with a focus on bright, punchy flavours designed to share, taking inspiration from our travels across the region.  Behind Bubala is Marc Summers (founder and ex GM of Berber & Q) and Head Chef Helen Graham, who has worked at The Palomar, The Barbary, The Good Egg and Ottolenghi. Due to its growth, popularity, and dedication to promoting within, Bubala is already looking to grow its amazing team!

Role description

  • You will join a fun and energetic team, serving up Middle Eastern vegetarian dishes which take inspiration from wide across the region, with a particular focus on Tel Aviv
  • You will be responsible for your section during prep and service. This role is with view to taking over wider responsibility over time, and eventually running shifts when head chef and sous are away
  • You will be working a 6 shift week (45 hours)

Responsibilities

  • Initially managing the grill and salad sections, daily prep and service
  • Taking responsibility for the ordering of your section
  • Opportunity to develop specials on your section
  • Rapid opportunity to progress - we are a small team so value a positive can-do attitude and eagerness to get stuck in
  • Partake in staff food rota

Ideal candidate

  • Passionate about food, with a love or curiosity for vegetarian cooking
  • Great team spirit!

Desired experience/skills

  • 2 years kitchen experience
  • Experience in Middle Eastern cuisine
  • Managerial experience within a kitchen team
