Happy Endings specialise in ice cream sandwiches and luxury soft-serve that combine modern and traditional techniques to create desserts that are bold in flavour, temper sweetness with savoury and balance textures.

We produce ice creams for some of Londons great fast casual restaurants, street food traders and fancy retailers like Selfridges. We are growing rapidly and looking to build an awesome team to grow with us. 

Our fab kitchen is located in Bow and are gearing up excitedly for our summer season. Really looking forward to have someone new join our small team. 

Role description

Do you love ice cream as much as us? Are you a self starter with a can do attitude? Do you love leading a team and making amazing food. 

We are looking for an experience production pastry chef to run the happy endings ice cream production kitchen.

We are a fast growing independent artisan ice cream business that has a focus on amazing ingredients and flavours. Looking for someone who can help scale the production kitchen to meet the demand of the coming summer and beyond.

Its a super exciting time as we approach our busy summer season. We are looking to build a new team to be able to grow to the next phase of this small business. 

Cooking will be required, this is a hands on job with support from Terri to enable Production Manager to have time to do paperwork responsibilities.

Our ingredients are super high quality which we source from suppliers such as The Estate Dairy milk and cream, Original Beans Chocolate, free range eggs from St Ewes. All of our equipment is very well looked after and maintained. 

We are looking for someone who is keen to help us scale, has a very high standard, has in-depth pastry knowledge, has great interpersonal skills,  is really good at keeping a kitchen clean, cares about the upkeep of our equipment, has attention to detail, is efficient, has experience in a fast paced environment, likes 80's music, enjoys delicious food and doesn't mind cooking a staff meal every now and then. 


Cook consistent great delicious ice cream sandwiches.

Write / implement and oversee production schedule to meet demand and stock

Adhere to all SALSA food safety guidelines, batch coding, traceability and complete all necessary paperwork weekly

Train staff on how to make ice creams to the highest consistent standard.

Ordering and manage stocktake and wastage

Dispatch of orders

Manage a team / rota / wages budget / food cost

Make decisions for the kitchen to operate efficiently and to meet the demand of orders and growth

Feedback and review sessions for team

Ideal candidate

Min 3 years experience in working with pastry and desserts.

Experienced as a manager of a team. 

Production experience would be ace, although would be interested in someone who wanted to transition out of restaurants. 

Cook to a very high standard. 

Experience in training staff. 

Understand flavour. 

Is kind and clear with communication. 

Is able to give honest feedback in a constructive and kind way. 

Loves desserts and ice cream. 

Is VERY organised and good with time management. 

Is a real team player. Loves motivating the team especially when its crazy busy summer.
