About us

We have popular restaurants in Peckham (Mr Bao) and Tooting (Daddy Bao) serving London's fluffiest bao buns, and have recently opened our third restaurant (Master Bao) in Westfield London!

While Master Bao is a slightly different operation when compared to our existing neighbourhood restaurants, we have tried to bring the same passion for good hospitality to the food court setting. 

There is a strong connection between the three restaurants, with some staff working across all three sites, and Frank & Abhi, the owners, always around!

We are not looking to take over the world, but this latest opening has created opportunities for us that mean there will be room for development and progression within our business.

Role description

We are looking for an experienced Manager to lead our team.

We like smiley, positive people with a strong work ethic and a desire to lead by example.

You will be responsible for maintaining our company's high standards in the overall running of the restaurant.  You will monitor key KPIs - sales, labour, COGs.

The salary will be £40,000 - £48,000 per annum depending on experience.

You will be supported by two super-nice, super-friendly owners: Frank and Abhi. We live and breathe our restaurants, and so will always be on-hand to help; equally we like to give our key/senior staff the freedom to make decisions and implement their own ideas.

Responsibilities

Helping the business to grow and maintaining the high standards the team have set in our opening six months.

You will ensure the smooth-running of the restaurant. This means creating an adequate rota, training and developing staff, organising the team to meet the demands of service. It also means driving improvement in all systems/processes.

Of course, you will perform the HR function for the restaurant. 

You will have weekly meetings with Frank or Abhi to monitor sales, labour, and cost of goods.

Ideal candidate

We like our senior staff to be hands-on, positive, and really lead by example. We have very little hierarchy in our company and would like somebody who shares this ethos.

You should be experienced and confident, with an openness to new ideas. Of course, a passion for leading staff and a passion for hospitality are essential. 

You will be required to lead the kitchen as well as the front of house.

Ultimately, we're looking for somebody to improve us.
