About us

Offley Works Canteen is a private restaurant that works with great suppliers and ingredients to serve a seasonal, daily changing, chef-driven menu in a comfortable and atmospheric location.

Open Monday to Friday for breakfast and lunch, Offley Works Canteen has set out to change the way London professionals enjoy lunch, by offering a daily changing menu of elevated and sophisticated comfort foods. Working with its suppliers, Offley Works Canteen sets out to cook everything on site from scratch, with zero to minimal waste.

We work with some great suppliers and ingredients and cook everything from scratch on site. The hours are really fantastic, 7.30am till around 4pm Monday to Friday. The menu is a constantly shifting, seasonal offering and we really enjoy what we do.

This is a rare opportunity to learn and grow whilst having a life outside the kitchen!

Role description


We're a small team, so we are looking for a strong and creative sous chef who is confident getting stuck into all aspects of running the kitchen; from Health & Safety Management, to assisting with menu writing and running service. 




- Maintaining H&S, keeping the kitchen in tip top shape, and generally just being super organised and tidy

- Running breakfast service, including setting up and prep

- Assisting with orders and helping to keep on top of stock control

- Supporting the Head Chef and being a positive, team player


Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have these qualities:

  • Experience; we are looking for a team member that can hold their own in a busy kitchen, a minimum 3 years experience is essential.
  • Organised and proactive; the ideal candidate will have eyes on the back of their heads, know what’s in the fridges and be able to rationalise a prep list.
  • Love of food; we love to cook and enjoy our work. A love of produce and an understanding of different food cultures would enrich the team. Somebody with confidence, who can bring some new ideas to the table.
  • Level two hygiene certified Chefs 
  • Aiming to grow; we will be pouring a lot of resources into developing the right candidate and want an individual looking to develop their caree
